Supreme Court Chief Justice Hires Unethical Attorney
The NY Times recently ran an article about the summer vacationing habits of United States Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts, his wife Jane (nee Sullivan), and their two children on a tiny island called Hupper Island, off the coast of Maine. The Times took pictures of the island, along with pictures of Roberts in a boat, pictures of the road where Roberts and his family live, and details about where the Chief Justice hangs out, basically doxing the Chief Justice. I know a 67 year old retired Naval officer who is doing 20 years for doxing family law judges in the State of Connecticut, the longest jail sentence I could find, State or Federal, for doxing.
The Times interviewed people on the island and asked them what they thought of the Roberts family after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The NYT: “Calling themselves ‘kayak-tivists,’ they form flotillas facing his island home, holding waterproof signs conveying their disappointment. A local newspaper columnist recommended that people in town give him the finger.” The NYT quoted local journalist Becca Glaser: “Maine is not here as your happy place, your wind-down from all of your hard work destroying my civil liberties and democracy, no. May you never feel welcome here again.” Robert’s daughter has told the locals that she did not agree with the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The NYT also quoted Kevin Lipson, whom the Times described as Robert’s former law partner and “closest friend” who convinced Roberts to buy a house on the island twenty years ago. “Mr. Lipson located the Roberts home, negotiated the deal, assigned him the lobster-dinner-announcement shtick, and integrated the Roberts family into what he described as an unusually cohesive place.” Lipson has been defending his buddy Roberts against personal attacks by the islanders.
Kevin Lipson purchased a house in 1987 on Hupper Island with his wife Jan and his brother Rabbi Mark Lipson (Temple Shalom of Norwalk, CT) and his wife Alice. The island filed six tax liens against the Lipson homestead between 1987 and 1998. Kevin and Jan Lipson have a son Samuel Adam Lipson, who is also a lawyer, who is a partner at a high tech venture capital law firm. The Lipson guys couldn’t get into the Ivy League, unlike Roberts who graduated from Harvard. Samuel Lipson was married off to Abigail Weiss, a kindergarten teacher, ten years ago. Cousin Rabbi Daniel A. Sklar officiated the ceremony. I couldn’t find their wedding pics on Simcha Spot. There are a number of other rabbis in the Lipson family, ie., Rabbi/Cantor Shirah Sklar, Rabbi/Cantor Mark Lipson, Rabbi/Cantor Dan Sklar, Ari Sklar.
What does the hard core pro-Israel Jewish Lipson family have in common with the hard core Catholic Roberts’ family? Jane Roberts is on the board of trustees of the College of the Holy Cross in the dumpy town of Worcester MA. What are the Lipsons doing on a goyisha island where everyone is munching on treif lobster bisque? The NYT reported: “One event that the chief justice did attend was the annual Hupper Island Independence Day picnic. On July 4, he gathered with 60 or so neighbors on a lawn overlooking the water to hear a patriotic benediction from a rabbi, a reading of the entire Declaration of Independence and a performance of God Bless America.” Who was the rabbi at that event? Was it Rabbi Mark Lipson or one of the many Rabbis in the Lipson family? When the Lipson family visits Tupper Island the Jewish population surges to 50%. But I highly doubt you can find a good bagel on this island. Let alone a knish.

In 2025 Chief Justice Roberts transferred his summer home in Hupper Island into a revocable trust, with Maine attorney James W. Brannan named as trustee. Kevin Lipson also retained the services of Brannan to prepare a power of attorney. Brannan was sued in 2022 by the Maine Attorney General for overcharging an artists estate some ten million dollars in legal fees. The Attorney General settled for a mere $2 million with Brannan. Brannan’s law licenses in Maine and Massachusetts were never suspended and he was never disbarred, unlike myself who has been suspended for the last ten years, mainly because the CT Bar authorities do not approve of this blog that you are reading right now. I never overbilled anyone for $10 million. I guess I need to make friends with guys like Supreme Court Justice Roberts if I ever want to get my law license back! Fuhgetaboutit!! Justice Roberts wrote the majority opinion in Snyder v. Phelps, holding that speech as a matter of public concern, even if considered offensive or outrageous, cannot be the basis of liability for the tort of infliction of emotional distress. This case has protected me from numerous potential lawsuits members of the CT Bar have considered filing against me.
Chief Justice John Roberts has been responsible for the rise of the use of the Supreme Court’s shadow or emergency docket, the practice of issuing unsigned, unreasoned orders without a full briefing or an oral argument. After 250 years all of a sudden everything has become an emergency and there is no time for argument. Is the shadow docket a result of legitimate emergencies or is it a way for the Supreme Court to keep the public in the dark about its operations. They don’t want you to see how the sausage is made, just eat it and don’t ask questions.
The shadow docket is now being copied by Courts on the State level, as I have experienced first hand, where I have been denied readmission to the CT Bar multiple times, for reasons that still have not been fully explained to me. Other attorneys have also been repeatedly denied for reasons that don’t appear to have any rational nexus to “present fitness” to practice law, such as Corey Brinson, a Black man who obtained his LLM after he completed his prison sentence, or a Black woman Josephine Miller, who was readmitted to the Federal Bar but has hit a brick wall with the State Bar, while politically connected guys like Lou Rubano, who stole a quarter of a million dollars from the State of CT was readmitted with no problem or Guy McDonough, who was readmitted after three DUI arrests on the condition he attend AA meetings. At one point the Bar authorities suggested that I am confusing the public with this blog, as people will not know the difference between Larry Noodles the character and Lawrence Dressler the suspended attorney. FUHGETABOUTIT! are these people INSANE??? or just stupid?
