Tom’s River Trio Busted In Massive Ponzi Scheme

Leor Moshe was the ringleader of a massive multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme, which included his underlings Jacob Goldman and Isaac Odes, in which he preyed on unwitting religious Jewish investors in Toms River, New Jersey, a growing religious community that branched out from Lakewood NJ, after Lakewood got too pricey. Only Leor was indicted by the Feds, which means Goldman and Odes must be cooperating. Goldman, Odes and Moshe live in million dollar mansions in a quiet suburban area in Toms River a couple of blocks from the popular Neimark Shul on Whitesville Road, Toms River. I can only assume that they pray with, and on, their victims at this synagogue. Leor quickly pleaded guilty after he was indicted, which means he may be cooperating against others.

Leor, Goldman, and Odes were sued by the SEC for securities fraud. Apparently they never had broker’s licenses to sell interests in their “business venture” in which they told investors that they were like a bank and lent money to businesses and individuals. They guaranteed high returns on investors money. Leor even provided heter iska agreements for Orthodox Jewish investors. Some investors were stupid enough to lend these shmucks millions of dollars. Leor used investors money to pay his gambling debts, personal credit card bills, home renovation expenses, and mortgage and car payments. There was no mention in the indictment that Leor used investor money to pay for his kids yeshiva education, which is normally the case with Orthodox Jewish criminals.

Eventually the Ponzi scheme crashed and investors, such as Blueberry Funding, out of Lakewood NJ, started to sue Leor Moshe along with his alleged co-conspirator wife Emunah Moshe, and other alleged co-conspirators Judy Moshe and Dov Moshe, who both live in Staten Island. Leor Moshe’s parents apparently live in Staten Island. Jacob Schlisselfeld was also sued. Probably an in-law, or “outlaw.” Another relative named Hanane Moshe, out of Denver, CO, was sued along with Shmuel Kirzner, another outlaw.

The DOJ, for whatever reason, has avoided indicting Leor Moshe’s family members, even though the DOJ can indict a corned beef sandwich for conspiracy. I used the term “corned beef” sandwich instead of “ham sandwich” out of respect for my kosher eating readers. BARUCH HASHEM!
