Jon Braun was one of the biggest pot dealers in America. He operated his business for years out of his parents’ home in Staten Island. Braun was finally busted by the Feds and charged with enough crimes to spend the rest of his life in prison. Instead, Braun cooperated with the Feds and was able to have his sentencing date delayed for 10 long years. Eventually he got sentenced to 10 years in Otisville. He was bunkies with infamous Teaneck fraudster and gambling addict Moshe Butler, the son of prominent Rabbi Rafael Butler in the Modern Orthodox world. Butler and Braun, who is also of the Modern Orthodox cloth, were bunkies, until Braun got sprung by Donald Trump. Rumors in Otisville were that Braun paid over a million bucks to get sprung from Otisville. I spent some time with Butler in Otisville. I also met Braun at the Nassau Courthouse. Braun is a wild and crazy guy. Highly explosive. I saw him lash out at the court employees in his case where he was charged with 40 counts of larceny for blowing past toll booths in his Lamborghini without paying. The Judge almost locked him up in the courthouse.

Braun was not out of Otisville long before he got busted again for violation of the terms of his supervised release. These were his charges:

On March 29, 2025, Braun assaulted an individual (referred to herein as “Shammai”) and his three-year-old son; On January 24, 2025, while at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, Braun attempted to punch a registered nurse in the emergency department (Brianna Peace) and swung an IV pole at her; On March 22, 2025, Braun grabbed the arm of a man (Edward Miller) and threatened him during religious services at a temple; An attorney from Lawrence, NY, within a mile from where Braun resides, named Edward W. Miller recently pleaded guilty to embezzling $500K from a trust that he managed in Connecticut. Birds of a feather flock together. Will Miller also end up in Otisville? On February 15, 2025, Baun went to the bedroom of the live-in nanny he and his wife employed (referred to herein as “Danelle”). Braun held Danelle on her bed, groped her without her consent, and forced Danelle to touch his genitals. Between approximately May and July 2024, Braun, who was driving a white Lamborghini Urus and a black Ferrari, repeatedly evaded paying tolls on the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Since commencement of his supervised release term on January 19, 2021, Braun failed to pay his court-ordered fine and has an outstanding balance of $77,200.

Braun spent a couple of more years in Otisville, after first getting locked up in MDC or MCC, one of those Federal prison hell holes where Jeffrey Epstein killed himself. Braun was recently released to a halfway house. I don’t know which halfway house he is currently occupying but I would imagine it is the one in Brooklyn. Braun spends the weekends at his $10 million, 20K square foot mansion in Lawrence, NY with his wife and family. Braun has been violent with his family in the past, at one point he attacked his father-in-law. Braun apparently behaved himself in prison, this was his second tour of Otisville. Braun and Butler both did two tours of Otisville. Braun needs to be heavily medicated or else he will end up back in Otisville, for the third time.
