Yale Law School grad Nicolo Nourafchan was indicted and named the ringleader in a massive ten year conspiracy involving young Ivy League lawyers who worked in white shoe law firms in mergers and acquisitions. Nicolo and his classmate Avi Sutton, whom I met when they attended Yale Law School, fed insider information to middleman Gavryel Silverstein, who fed the tips to his in-laws Brian, Mark and Simon Fensterszaub. The in-laws or should I say “outlaws” traded on the tips and sent kickbacks to Silverstein, who then kicked the kickbacks to Nicolo. At one point Niciolo got mad at Silverstein for not kicking the kickbacks fast enough. According to the indictment, Nicolo messaged Silverstein: “Call me bro, You can run but you can’t hide motherfucker.”

Nicolo and his brother Lorenzo, and the rest of his gang, got indicted over the last several months, with many members already copping pleas, cutting deals and cooperating. The Justice Department does not seem interested in cutting Nicolo a deal at this point in time. But the Justice Department doesn’t have a problem allowing Nicolo and Silverstein to travel outside their Federal jurisdiction in order to spend summer family vacations in Lake Tahoe and Vegas. When you get indicted by the Feds you cannot travel outside your Federal jurisdiction without prior permission. Nicolo and Silverstein both recently got their family vacation plans approved by Massachusetts Federal Judge Leo T. Sorokin, also a Yale graduate.

Nicolo recently got approval to take his family on vacation to Lake Tahoe, Nevada. There is a small Jewish community who call themselves “mountain Jews” who live in Lake Tahoe. They have a website with pictures of themselves decked out in faded jeans and plaid shirts. But hard core Jews go to the Catskills for the summer, not Lake Tahoe.

When I first met Nicolo he was clean shaven and didn’t wear a yarmulke. Now he sports a long black beard with a giant yarmulke. Nicolo would feel more comfortable vacationing in South Fallsburg than Lake Tahoe. In the Catskills Nicolo can ask Rav Hershel Schachter, who is shacking up in a bungalow in Tannersville, to intercede in the heavenly courts on his behalf. If that doesn’t work Nicolo can stop by the visitors room in Otisville and ask one of the Rabbis if they can secure a Presidential Pardon.

Nicolo’s brother and co-conspirator Lorenzo, who fed his high end Santa Monica hairdresser Miakel Bishay insider tips which started the entire investigation, recently got permission to travel throughout the State of California in order to conduct business for a black box artificial intelligence company he is working for, called BBos. At least Lorenzo is working. Nicolo got fired from his law firm. I’m not sure what Nicolo is doing while he is under indictment.

Nicolo and Lorenzo’s other partner in crime recently got permission to travel to attend an engagement party with other members of the conspiracy. Criminal defendant Stjepan Vinski got permission to attend the engagement party of defendant Nicholas Rudela along with other co-conspirators Nowel Milik and David Makary. Where is Nicholas going to spend his honeymoon, in the Federal penitentiary? That’s no way to start your marriage!
